Hi I'm Kerri. My husband is a youth and worship pastor in a medium-sized Independent Christian Church. I thank God every day for the privilege of partnering in ministry with this very gifted (and handsome) man. In addition to working with student ministries, I lead the women's ministry at my church. The bonds of friendship among women are an important support network and I am passionate about helping facilitate those relationships. I spent some years in higher education administration before leaving the work-force to stay home with my three children... 2 girls, 1 boy. I am a year and a half away from having all 3 in school, and am not sure what God has in store for me at that point. I found "the fishbowl" (as we call our message forums) in the midst of a major ministry crisis. This place became a real life-line for me as the ladies ministered to me and God began to heal me. Now I come here to laugh, cry, play, and pray with my sister PWs.
My screen name is marigold from my mom's nickname for me from when I was a kid. My husband is the youth pastor at our church and I'm a nurse at our local hospital. God has blessed me to be able to use my job as a ministry in addition to my involvement in our youths' lives. My husband and I are young, but have seen the good and the bad already. God has moved us on and has healed many wounds. He is so faithful when others are not. The fishbowl message forum has been such an encouragement to me, through the wisdom, fellowship, and prayers of these wonderful ladies. I just hope that other pastors' wives who are struggling can find the same kind of help here.
Hello! My name is Kerri. I am a painter who lives in a parsonage--hence the screen name. I share the parsonage with 2 young children, my fabulous pastor husband, and 2 spoiled cats. My husband is a United Methodist pastor serving wherever our Bishop sends us in Arkansas. I am an artist and a stay-at-home mom. My career background is in museum education and teaching on the university level. I also enjoy baking and digital photography. My ministry gifts lie in working with children, visual arts, and helping my husband when he needs it. I enjoy getting to know other PWs (pastors' wives) here in the Fishbowl!
Hi and welcome to the fishbowl! To tell a bit about me, well... I'm not sure exactly where to start! My husband is currently Senior Pastor (well, only pastor!) at a small SBC country church in a very rural part of Missouri. I'm working part time right now as secretary for our baptist association, which has been interesting in itself... learning all the ins and outs of the administrative side of things. We have one son, and Lord willing, we are praying to someday have more. I love to meet new people online, or if you're from Missouri, drop me a line and maybe we could meet "IRL" sometime! Right now I'm pretty much into the "mom" thing so don't have a lot of hobbies, but back when I used to have free time I liked reading, writing, art, gardening and politics... I got my Master's degree in Church/State Relations, which is basically an obscure field in political science dealing with all those "prayer in school" and first amendment type cases. What else? Oh, I guess I'm also a bit of a star trek nerd. (yikes!) Anyway, I hope you enjoy meeting the ladies here, I know I have... this board has truly been a blessing to me, and I pray it will be for you as well!
Hi Everyone!! My name is "Wiggie". I've been married for 9 years to a great man, and we have 5 kiddos whom I homeschool. My husband is an Associate Pastor of a small SBC Church and seminary student. We personally are Reformed Baptist. We live in a very unchurched area, and our passion in Ministry is young families. So, the Lord placed us in a church with no young people or families.....but He is sending them our way!!! In our current church I run the women's ministries, VBS, and the website(s). This past year has been a huge learning and growing time for both my husband and myself, I am so excited about the plans that the Lord has for us. If you have any questions, my strong points are: homeschooling, large families, covenantal families, courting vs dating, hhmmmmmm....... mostly family stuff!! Before marriage and kids, I went to Culinary Arts school--comes in handy with all those potlucks.........
Our Message Board is open to any pastor's wife who has registered. This makes for a safe place to "be ourselves" without judgment. An online message board works like this: One person types a question, situation, or statement. Other members of the Board can read it and reply under what the previous person has written. Most posts receive numerous replies; some long some short.
